Maskrey is a contemporary artist whose transnational background informs a practice shaped by movement, cultural hybridity, and material exploration. Raised in Hong Kong and later educated in Australia, she developed an early sensitivity to the intersections of identity, language, and visual culture. In her early thirties, she relocated to London, where she worked across a broad range of creative industries, including fashion design, before moving to Los Angeles in 2019.

Drawing from her experiences across Asia, Oceania, Europe and the United States, Maskrey’s work engages themes of cultural memory, social systems, history and technological advancement through an interdisciplinary approach that bridges conceptual inquiry with material experimentation.

Maskrey holds a MFA (2026) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Visual Arts (2024) from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Sociology (2023) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

She has held one solo exhibition ‘GIANTS’, in Arcane Space Gallery, Los Angeles, 2024.
